Recent work includes HAMLETMACHINE, a solo research-performance reimagining Heiner Müller’s 1977 text through choreography, projection, sound, and generative language, with a July 2026 presentation at ChuanFest, NYC. Their collaborative practice spans ensemble devising, cross-disciplinary creation, and dramaturgical support, including Before It Hurts with in-version ensemble (NYC, 2025–26), alongside works presented across the US, Europe, and Asia. A former performer with TAO Dance Theater and ErGao Dance Production Group, ZIWEI brings a choreographic sensibility to processes equally attentive to text, image, and structure.
ZIWEI received their BA with Honors from NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study in 2026, where their concentration in Dance, Theatre, and Performance integrated artistic practice with critical theory and interdisciplinary research. They are a recipient of the Michael Dinwiddie Artist-Scholar Award and have been selected for the 2026 Performance Co-Lab at Tai Kwun, Hong Kong.
